Term: January 1, 2020 - December 31, 2023
Barry McDonnell was born in the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, and moved to America when he was 12 years old. After attending St. Pius High School in Atlanta, Georgia, and Georgia State University, Barry met his wife, Anastasia, and the two were married in 2004.
After multiple moves across the country to find the kind of beautiful, tight-knit community they wanted their children to grow up in, Barry and his family were thrilled to finally arrive in Camas in the summer of 2016. In December of 2017 their fourth child, Archie, was born in the family’s one hundred year old house in Crown Park. The oldest three of the McDonnell’s four kids are in the Camas school district, at Liberty Middle, Odyssey Middle, and Helen Baller Elementary.
Barry has nearly two decades of management experience working in the Retail Loss Prevention Field. For eighteen of those years he has been in leadership positions, managing and inspiring teams with his affable style of clear communication, forward-thinking policy, and personal accountability. Barry is also a blue belt in Jiu-Jitsu and practices at Universal MMA in Downtown Camas, and when he’s not in City Hall you may find him walking the trails of Lacamas Lake with his family or mountain biking with his oldest son behind Fallen Leaf Park.
After a brisk 34 day write-in campaign, Barry was elected to Mayor of Camas in November of 2019. This is Barry’s first experience in politics and he is honored and excited to represent the people of Camas as he leads our town toward a community-focused and citizen-driven future.
Barry has been appointed to the following committees for 2020:
- Camas-Washougal Economic Development Association (CWEDA) - Liaison

- Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) - Liaison
- Economic Development Strategy Committee for Economic Incentives - Liaison
