Term: December 2, 2019 - December 31, 2023
Shannon Roberts was elected to her first term as Camas City Council member on December 2, 2019. Her term runs through December 31, 2023.
A Camas resident since 2015, Shannon originates from northeast Tennessee. She left Tennessee when the Navy beckoned at age 34 and she trained as an aviation electronics technician, just in time for the Gulf War.
Finishing her stint, she jumped onboard at NASA Ames travelling the world in support of various aircraft that were home to scientists and their projects.
During her fifteen years as a U.S. government contractor in the states and overseas, and seven years for Insitu Boeing here in the Gorge, she started and led teams and projects in the fields of telecommunication, aviation electronics, data analysis and information security. All of these helped Shannon develop skills bent toward business administration, research, and finding out how to do things better. She sees things that need to be corrected, or made better, and she’s good at getting it done.
Shannon lived in the United Kingdom over 10 years and enjoyed traveling Europe and the Middle East and misses it even now.
Volunteering throughout Clark County, Shannon is currently on the Clark County Veterans Advisory Board, which monetarily assists various organizations that assist homeless and in need veterans, with a budget of over $700,000. She is also Junior Vice Commander of Camas VFW post 4278. Shannon has also worked as a receptionist at the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), which assists the mentally challenged and their families, for a number of years.
