Payment
Options
We are glad to offer several payment options.
You may elect to mail your payment by using the
payment envelopes provided in your billing statements.
An outside drop box is located at the Camas Municipal
Center, 616 NE Fourth Avenue for all non-cash
payments, while cash payments can be made at our
customer service office during normal business
hours.
We
accept Mastercard, Visa and Discover Card for
debit and credit card transactions. These payments
can also be made over the phone during regular
business hours by calling (360) 834-2462.
We
also offer Auto-Pay, a convenient way to pay your
utility account. To enroll, a brief application
is required, then on the due date of each utility
bill, the amount due will be deducted automatically
from your checking or savings account.
Due
Date
Utility bills are sent at the end of odd-numbered
months, and are due on the 10th of the following
even-numbered month. Bills become delinquent if
not paid by the 18th of that same even-numbered
month. A late fee of 5%, minimum $14.00, will
be assessed on past due accounts.
Payment
Arrangements
If you receive a late notice and are unable to
pay by the due date, please contact the Finance
Department at (360) 834-2462 to make arrangements.
Tenants must have the property owner call to make
any extensions.
Disconnect
We prefer not to disconnect service; however,
sometimes it becomes necessary. Before service
is terminated, a notice will be sent to state
our intent to discontinue service for non-payment.
A door hanger placed at the property will provide
an additional warning that payment must be made
within 72 hours. There is a $17.00 fee for providing
this 72-hour notice. If the service is terminated
for nonpayment of a past due bill or failure to
comply with a deferred payment arrangement, a
disconnection fee of $35.00 will be assessed.
It is a violation to tamper with
the meter for the purpose of turning water on
or off. Water meters are the property of the City
of Camas. An additional $40.00 will be charged
for each violation.
Returned
Check
If a check is returned for non-sufficient funds
or on a closed account, a $30.00 fee will be charged
to your account in addition to the original amount
owing and any fees accrued as a result of the
unpaid balance.
