Weekly Updates for Public Works Projects
Current Events
This page is updated weekly based on staff meeting notes. We try to reflect the most current status of construction projects and how they may effect the citizens of Camas. In reading these notes, please remember that they reflect the best information we have at the time of publication. Construction activity has many variables that can change or delay projected schedules. The Engineering Dept. strives to provide notice 24 hours prior to construction to adjoining neighbors through a number of methods, which include mailings, door hangers, and in some cases, phone calls.

2009 Goot Park CDBG Improvements
This project is partially funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the Community Development Block Grant Program with funds obtained from the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The bio-catch basin, benches and bike rack have been delivered and will be installed. The swing set will be installed as it becomes available from the vendor. The restroom construction is anticipated to begin in January once the kit of materials arrive from the restroom vendor. Camas High School Stadium
(Replacing existing football stadium at NE 22nd and Ione)
Demolition work has been completed. Work is underway on the storm system and grading for the stadium. Team Construction LLC is the contractor for this project. Team Construction LLC is the contractor for this project.

Lacamas Lake Pier Replacement
(NW Natural Gas Line and City of Camas Water Main Supports at Lacamas lake)
The contractor has finished installing the concrete base for this project. The second and final pour is currently scheduled for this Friday (10-2-09) between 10 a.m. and noon. Traffic control will be the same on Friday as it was for today--one lane closed with flaggers at both ends directing traffic through the work area. Please call John Adams. 10/1/09

Fisher Creek Campus
(located between NW Pacific Rim Boulevard and
NW 38th Avenue)
Site construction work has been stopped at this time. The contractor has been onsite to correct some erosion/washout issues. Upkeep of the erosion control BMP (Best Management Practices) does continue. Wubben Excavating & Underground is the prim contractor for this project. City Contact is Norm Wurzer. 1/07/10

Osprey Landing
(located near the city limits on the Evergreen Hwy)
A stop work order has been issued for this site. Monitoring for erosion control concerns continues. The December onsite meeting with the Department of Ecology was completed. Additional erosion Best Management Practices were completed along with chaining off the entrance to impede the dumping of trash. City contacts are Wes Heigh and Norm Wurzer. 1/07/10

Hayes Freedom High School
(east side of Helen Baller School on Ione Street)
Work continues on the construction of the main building. Work has also been completed on a portion of the site's storm water system. Team Construction LLC is the contractor for this project. City contact is Norm Wurzer. 1/07/10

WS 687 2009 STEP / STEF Tank Pumping
All tank pumping completed for 2009. 1/13/10

Knights Court Condominiums
(located across from the Sharp Electronics entrance on
NW Pacific Rim Boulevard)
This project is inactive, erosion control monitoring is ongoing. The site contractor is Scott's Excavating, Inc. City contacts are Norm Wurzer or Wes Heigh. 10/15/09

P-826 Verizon - Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP)
Directional boring continues in Sunningdale Gardens and Summit Oaks development areas. The contractor has been responding to a number of citizen complaints. Feedback from the citizens has been positive after contact. The contractor for the directional boring work is Tetra Tech. City contacts are Norm Wurzer or Wes Heigh. 1/07/10

Deerhaven Subdivision
(on Leadbetter Road just north of SR-500)
This project is on developer hold. If there are questions pertaining to this project, please contact Wes Heigh.1/1/10

Drewf's Farm
(located off NW Hill Street off NW Fargo)
This site has been quite active with site grading modifications and associated erosion control activities. City contact is Norm Wurzer. 1/07/10

LaDonna Subdivision
(located on the corner of Ilwaco and McIntosh)
Sporadic work continues with the majority related to erosion Best Management Practices. East Wind Construction Co. is the contractor for this project. City contact is Norm Wurzer. 1/07/10

Logan Place
(west of the Shell Station at the top of Prune Hill)
This project is currently on developer hold.

Province Estates
(east of NE Province Dr. off Crown Rd)
This site has been inactive, erosion control monitoring is ongoing. Green Construction is the primary contractor for this 40 lot development. City contact is Norm Wurzer 10/30/09


Vista Pointe
(near NW Astor St/NW 18th Ave)
Limited work has resumed on this site. The ADA ramp and sidewalk has been poured at the corner of NW 18th and
NW Astor. City contact for this project is Norm Wurzer. 11/25/09

Union Self Storage
(located on Friberg/Strunk Road across from Union High School) This project has been inactive. Nutter Corporation is the prime contractor for this project.
