General
Information
This division's primary duty is to monitor site
development activity. This is construction work
that is paid for by the private sector and includes
subdivisions, multifamily, commercial, and industrial
development. The Engineering Department works
in conjunction with the Planning, Fire, Operations,
and Building Departments to verify that development
is progressing in accordance with approved plans,
conditions of approval, and City standards. When
a development is proposed, the Engineering Department
verifies the ability of the site to meet code,
provide adequate water and sewer, provide clean
stormwater, meet transportation requirements,
and provide a stable environment. We provide inspection
services during construction to help ensure conformance
to the standards. The City of Camas has adopted
the Design Standard Manual to provide guidance
for the development community.
