The City of Camas Planning office is responsible for (1) Developing, and implementing land use regulations; (2) Administering environmental protection programs; and (3) Processing and issuing zoning, subdivision and other development permits.
The City encourages citizens to participate at public meetings and hearings in order to develop a vital community for today and the future. The planning department often reaches out to the citizens of Camas to invite them to participate in focus groups, ad hoc committees and for the City’s boards and commissions. In the case of proposed changes to the city’s planning documents or for specific proposed land developments, the city follows the state mandates for public notice. Public notices are mailed to potentially affected property owners, published in the Camas Post Record, and posted to the city’s website.
