Message from the Mayor

During my tenure as your mayor, I am committed to working with the citizens of our community in preserving the qualities of Camas. While we face many challenges, none are insurmountable. I will work hard to reposition Camas by developing a strategic plan that enables our community to prosper and to invest in our future. I look forward to serving as your new mayor.

Biography

Mayor Paul Dennis served on the Camas City Council for nearly seven years before being elected as mayor in 2003. He has successfully worked with the community on a number of significant topics, such as the North Dwyer Creek Industrial Master Plan, Citywide Comprehensive Plan Update, Design Review Guide Lines for Commercial/Mixed-Use/Multi-family Development, Downtown Vision, and Youth Council.

Paul is a nationally certified planner and has been an economic development consultant for almost 20 years. He advises communities throughout the Pacific Northwest on growth issues, economic revitalization, fiscal planning, job recruitment and retention, and capital facilities planning.

Mayor Dennis’ priorities include:

  • Developing a strategic plan that serves as a framework for guiding City decisions and policies.

  • Implementing the City’s new comprehensive plan.

  • Promoting economic and community investment, including continuation of downtown revitalization efforts.

  • Upgrading the community’s technology infrastructure to increase communication with the citizenry, provide greater access to community resources, and create economic opportunities for local residents.
