About the Fire Department's
Programs and Services

The Fire Department provides a variety of emergency and non-emergency services.

Emergency services are most familiar to the public. We respond to nearly any type of emergency situation that threatens life or property. We respond to and extinguish fires, provide extrication at motor vehicle accidents, perform high-angle rescues in steep terrain and provide emergency medical care to the injured and ill. We also operate an ambulance service, transporting the injured and ill to medical facilities. For more about our emergency services, see the “Operations” page.

Non-emergency services include public education offerings, ambulance billing services, fire prevention and code enforcement. Our public education offerings include fire safety training, CPR, first aid and injury prevention. To sign up for CPR or first aid classes, contact the Camas Parks and Recreation Department.
