Plan Review and Inspections

 

PLAN REVIEW, INSPECTION and PERMITS

In addition to permits issued by the Building Department, the Fire Department issues permits and conducts plan
reviews and inspections for Fire Code compliance on new construction, alterations or change in use and installation or alteration of fire and life safety systems. Permits are also issued to maintain, store, use or handle materials, or to
conduct processes which produce conditions hazardous to life or property, or to install equipment used in connection
with such activities.

APPLICATION FOR A PERMIT. Applications for permits shall be made to the Fire Department on a form provided by
the Fire Department and accompanied with 2 sets of plans and specifications and other information as may be
necessary to determine compliance with fire and life safety codes and standards.

Applications may be made Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM at the Fire Department located at 616 NE
4th Ave.
