YAC!! What is it? A teen volunteer group that meets the first Monday of every month from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.

At the meetings you may be asked to:

  • Make suggestions for the library to purchase.
  • Help plan teen programs.
  • Discuss what’s popular in teen books, magazines, music, and movies.
  • And more!

What else does this group do?

  • YAC members help run other library events (such as the library booth at CamTown, the Gingerbreadman Workshop for kids, the Book Swaps, etc.).
  • You get dsign up for special summer projects, such as helping search for missing books or counting Summer Reading Program prizes


  • 13 to 17 years of age.
  • You MUST have an email address that you check regularly.


  • Attend monthly meetings when you can.
  • Sign up to help run other library events (such as the library booth at CamTown, Summer Reading Program events, etc.).
  • Recruit other teens to the teen events!

What you get out of it:

Snacks at the meetings!.

Find new friends that also love the library!

You can use the library as a reference for job and college applications.

Earn volunteer hours that can be used toward scholarship applications and service organizations, such as the Key Club and National Honor Society.

The warm fuzzy feeling you get for volunteering your time!
